Describe yourself and your play style. “I'm Nona, a 31 y/o F queer & neurodivergent gamerunner from The Netherlands. I like TTRPGs as a medium to tell awesome stories together. I mesh well with players who are creative and think outside the box. I love exploration and roleplay but don't care much for combat, so I gravitate toward systems were combat is swift and/or involves more cinematic descriptions and active roleplaying. I prefer settings where characters are ordinary and not all that powerful, yet choose to be brave and face very real dangers. My system of choice for conventions is Mausritter (OSR/NuSR style), but I know and run a large variety of systems and occasionally offer one of those for Pickup Con as well.”
Tell us about your favorite NPC to have run. “Yort, a wizard's apprentice mouse who got captured by AI robots who believed he could turn them into flesh & blood. He tried to keep up a mad scientist/powerful wizard charade, but was honestly clueless and knew very little magic, just biding his time til he could escape.”
Is there anything else you'd like to tell potential players to help them get to know you? “Outside of tabletop RPGs, I play a lot of board games. I like teaching games, both RPGs and board games, and encourage people to reach out if I can demo something for you! I own 4 adorable cats who like to distract me with their shenanigans. I always want more hours in a day to spend with my awesome friends and on too many fun hobbies. When not gaming or cuddling cats, I organize all sorts of events, do a bunch of arts & crafts, try to learn how to play the keyboard, go on day trips to the local safari park or spa, and much more.”

Upcoming Games:
You have just joined a new family of goblins and want to make yourselves useful. Clearly, the best way to do so is by running errands for your new community: Buying vegetables at the market or procuring the services of a local wizard to get your wise leader unstuck from his chamber pot. Sounds easy, right? Well, unfortunately, you've got to contend with a world built for folk much bigger and stronger than you. And on top of that, you're both easily distracted and full of energy! Clearly a winning combination! Pick from various entertaining Goblin types like the Rascal, the Rambler, the Nibbler or the Whiz-Wart. Play to see how things go wrong, complications mount, and these ordinary, everyday tasks spiral into hilarious (mis)adventures. This game will be great if you like PbtA, goblins, being tiny, creative problem solving, shenanigans. This system is especially great for new players. The game runner is very familiar with this system. The game runner will provide playbooks ahead of time, so you can customize your character.

Desperation is a dark collaborative storytelling game about people pushed far past their limits. It's unique because you don’t decide what is said, **you decide who says it**. And in a small community, who says “I burned a house down with the family trapped inside” makes all the difference in the world. Great for fans of games like For the Queen and The Quiet Year, but with a darker tone. This GMless card-based system comes with a world of characters that form a web of relationships you will then apply agonizing pressure to and, in most cases, destroy. It also includes the isolated locations where all the action will take place, as additional characters in the unfolding horror. Finally, the bulk of the deck consists of prompts that follow the inexorable passage of time. Some will drench the experience in unforgettable color, and others will drench it in blood or worse. And each time, you will have to decide who among the survivors is saying the words.
Dead House is set during the great blizzard of 1888, and in it you will meet the people of the tiny town of Neola, Kansas, who find themselves unprepared in the teeth of the storm. As supplies and sanity dwindle in equal measure, who will live and who will be added to the dead house?
__Content warnings__: themes of death, murder, genocide, impurity, religion, claustrophobia, hopelessness, mental decline and self sacrifice. Safety tools will be used, but be aware that it's a fairly realistic dark and bleak tale at its core.

Foretold is a way of playing narrative story games driven by a series of prompts; following in the footsteps of games like For The Queen, Women Are Werewolves and In a Wicked Age, the prompts for the story are determined by drawing cards from a deck. Each iteration of the basic form of Foretold tells a unique story and puts its fingerprints on the standard rules with a few minor variations to them.
This one is Mile's End, described as a Foretold game of Melancholy Nostalgia. It's a contemporary tale of nostalgia and the waywe recall the past as a better place to live. Taking inspiration from The World’s End, the main characters embark on a pub crawl to relive past glories and reconnect with friends they haven’t seen in a long time. As they revisit the pubs they once frequented in their youth, they will relive painful experiences, make peace with their past and maybe even find out that not everything is as it appears to be here.
The cards will determine what pubs we visit, who we run into and what's on our minds. But it's up to us to bring these prompts to life. We also decide when to leave a pub behind, only to see it inevitably change and close down. The game ends with a short epilogue reflecting back on our hometown and the friends left behind.
Themes: melancholy, nostalgia, loss, friendship, memories, changing times. The x-card will be used to ensure everyone remains comfortable.
Players need to have some TTRPG experience. New players to the system are very welcome, just make sure you're comfortable improvising answers to specific prompts. The GM is very familiar with this game.Tone: Silly⚪⚪⚪⚪⚬ SeriousCombat: ⚪⚬⚬⚬⚬⚬Role Play: ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚪Exploration: ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚬

Come play Parsely, a party game parlor style RPG that's a love letter to the old text-based computer adventures. With all the laughs, frustrated groans and story paths that you remember :D Can you unlock the best ending? A whole game takes less than 2 hours! Relive the glory days of floppy disks, dot-matrix printers and 128K RAM with this collection of party games inspired by the text adventures of the 1980s.
Before the first 3D video game came out, all video games were text-based adventures. These were simple scenarios with limited interactions. The player would type their actions into the game, and if it was a valid command, the game would respond with new content.
Players will take control of a character together and the GM will play as the parser and control the computer processing your commands. Players will alternate giving commands like GO NORTH, LIGHT LAMP or GET SWORD, which the GM will follow to the best of the imaginary computer's ability. There’s no limit to the number of people that can play and no limit to the fun. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to unplug from your computer and plug into Parsely! Don't forget to hit SAVE and be mindful, because 3 deaths means GAME OVER! ;-)

Have you ever wondered what bounty hunters do when the galaxy no longer needs them? In this game called A Complicated Profession, they start new careers hosting intergalactic cruises! Reunite your disbanded crew of jaded sidekicks, shabby droids and shady accomplices. Then pick a hosting role on your cruise ship and start a new life together! Gradually leave more of your old Hunter self behind and embrace your new role as Host, although the past will always be a part of who you are. We'll play 1 to 3 cruises, depending on the play speed of the group, each cruise featuring different passengers and three different exciting events.
A Complicated Profession is a GMless collaborative storytelling TTRPG. Players will start by picking a Hunter and Host role from a variety of templates, then go through a mad-libs style fill-in-the-blanks process to create their characters, ship and galaxy. Maybe you used to be the Hotspot Pilot or the Hired Muscle? Well, no more. How about becoming a Chef, the Live Entertainment or simply the Janitor in your new career? Once your crew settles into their new identity, it's time to find some clients and take them through various exciting events! From excursions to meddling in their love life, here you can do it all.
This game will be great if you like collaborative storytelling, worldbuilding, space, cruises, and Saturday Morning cartoons.
This system is especially great for new players. The game runner is very familiar with this system.

Goblin Quest is a tabletop roleplaying game by Grant Howitt about slapstick violence, fatal ineptitude, and the most incredible adventure of your life.. Doodle and play five goblins each (in sequence, not parallel) and watch them one by one meet hilarious ends. As you play, you’ll tell stories about goblins trying to achieve basic tasks and meeting fatal misadventure as they do it. You’ll play the goblins, and you’ll steer them through (or, more commonly, directly into) adversity, and you’ll have a fun time doing it. Will they survive the dangerous world and complete all their silly quests? Probably not. But you'll have fun finding out!
Today, your Goblins will go on a Quest we'll call Putting The Band (Back) Together. After the last band got eaten by a dragon, life in the goblin lands has gotten much more boring! How hard can it be to form a band, right? You'll make sure to become the Best Band and get all the fame or glory. Or you'll die trying!
This game will be great if you like drawing, goblins, shenanigans, harebrained schemes, Saturday morning cartoons, and Grant Howitt's games. This system is especially great for new players. The game runner is very familiar with this system. We will build characters in session.
Note: drawing your goblins is a minor but required part of gameplay; this can be done digitally or on paper. If drawing on paper, please be prepared to take pictures of your goblins (using a smartphone) and share/upload them in our game's thread here on Discord.
Hosted in room #4 of the Pickup Con server, only using Discord, as always, spectators are welcome.
