This Game was played using the Mavericks system. An RPG utilizing a deck of cards to tell the story and put fate in the hands of the players. you. Welcome back time travelers. We are once again joining our heroes as they explore the backstory of our dear Pharaoh whiskers. He may not be a hero at this point in his life. He may not be a hero later on, either to be honest with you, but we are enjoying this little snapshot into the relationship between whiskers, his sister and his brother. But we are enjoying this little look into the history of whiskers, his wife and his brother and their relationship to the villainous panhazi, who is a king maker who is looking to usurp the throne. In this episode, we are picking up where we left off. Whiskers and his queen, neferu, are facing off against a local soldier and warlord who has a disdain for whiskers named nemereth. All of this has been brought about through panhazi, a kingmaker who's setting his sights on whiskers throne and his brother Simon, who may have nefarious intentions of his own. How will this all play out? Will they beat nemereth? There's only one way to find out friends. I think at this point we are going to draw for a conflict, as she wants to stand up to you, anybody who wants to involve themselves in this, go ahead and draw three cards face down. ties go to the player. So whatever happens here is not to the benefit of Siemen. Whatever you're going to try here is not going to work out for you, or perhaps you just sit this one out what? That's kind of up to you. But the Joker is a zero value card, so you're not going to be successful. Neither is our NPC in this one. So I will start with what she tries to do, and let you guys sort of take it from there, how you want to respond, knowing that you are going to over master her for this first section of the conflict. So Nemeth looks she's like bowing her head a little bit, and she looks up at you so you almost get the like Kubrick stare in response to what you just said. As she says, My Lord, I It sounds very much like you wish to take my people to war again, and we cannot support that. We have only just returned, and we lost so much my father, and she sort of like loses her composure there for a second, giving you an opportunity.

So he is a lack of empathy, but that is hidden by a lack of faith in himself, for whether or not so he kind of doesn't i He's selfish in the fact that he doesn't think that he can do this. So going to war, since he's a Battle Master and trained with the gods, he that's the one that he can do, this is all bureaucracy stuff. So he kind of has this condescending demeanor as he stands over as like a and those who know Him will see this as a lack of he's doing this to overcompensate as he goes. I know, but look at what it has given us. They got smile on us. Look at this beautiful kingdom that I have raised far beyond what my predecessor was able to do. I've grown Egypt into a fearsome place with a god's name stretches across all of the continent they know my name, not yours, and certainly not your father's. And I say by the god Ra the armor that I wear in front of you now that I will go to war, and I will defeat the Greeks, and I will stretch us far further into the North.

How do we think neferu is handling this in this moment?

I think that she, I mean, I mean, I really think that she thinks that he's just like whiskers is kind of a hot head idiot, and would love for him to not be here so that she can try to handle things. And so, yeah, she wants him to go do that, not because she wants to help the brother or anything. Like she just this is purely selfish, like she would like to try to do all of this on her own, so she's gonna back him to go, because it was her idea. So, like, I think she is maybe, I think she's hopping out such she can be seen, but I think she's gonna nudge one of the guards so that he can hold a umbrella over her so she doesn't get sunburned. So like, I think she's she's hopping down, and she's just going to, like, stand just slightly behind him, so that she can be seen as, like, a show of support.

Well, let's start with the seven this time as we tell this story, so Nemeth responds to the sort of bristling of whiskers by bristling herself like she's in with this, with this joker from last round. You know, she is not doing a very good job of looking warlike and terrifying, but she's really trying. She's trying to respond to that might with might. And you know, she's she's got the build for it. She's got the shoulder. Dollars. She's worked out. She's got the the strength of a farmer, and she's got the the armor and arms on her. She just doesn't, you know, she can't quite put up a candle to the godly radiance that you are putting forward. So with her continuing to do worse than you with this three I think the the continuation of this is that she is getting to the point where either she's got to throw down or leave. And I think for her failure, failure for her is fighting you like she she wants to be the better person. She's the in this situation. She's the heroic one who is trying to, you know, stand up for what's right and be there for her people, but also not, you know, start fights unnecessarily. So she would see it as a loss to have to draw arms against her Pharaoh. Also, it What a dumb move in light of the magic that you're presenting the guards that are right here, the terrifying cat in your sporran. You know there's, there's a lot going on that says, Don't get into a fight with this guy. But she's kind of over committing herself, I guess is what I what I'll say there.

So you guys can see that panhase is, like, secretly thrilled about what's going on. And I think to the point where, I mean, this is a flashback that we're probably not going to get to come back to for some time. So I'll just tell you see him. And I think you get the impression that panhazy would much rather replace whiskers with Nemeth than you.

He thinks like there was this some sorcery of but he does something so embarrassing, is that he turns back into his cat form to slip out, and that's like a sign of him fleeing. And he gets to the edge before instill in cat form, putting his hands up and behind and taking a deep breath and holding his throat as he looks at nemara, and then looks at, then looks at a queen of Pharaoh, and then see him in last and of course, everyone else who's in here in the vicinity says, How dare you see him in you have brought shame upon that house. I know you have something to do with this fine you want my throne, then it will be war between the two of us. Come prepare brother or I come for blood.

I would say yes, because I want this, if every if there's many people, many witnesses around who kind of saw this and could spread the news, I would love it if he gets pulled at this point, thereby leaving everything open for whatever the three of them for, if you count now, people of them to amongst themselves. And this is why whiskers always wants to come back to kind of deal with this.
