Ty first learned about D&D Basic as a middle schooler in 1983. He formally began as a freelance TTRPG editor, writer, and consultant in 2017. In the summer of 2021, after a lively conversation with a friend about player agency, he had a dream. The dream was the birth of Nuovarden and the Fortunes d4 System. Six weeks later he founded Adventure Slang Productions and began development of the game. Nuovarden was officially released in May 2025. In addition to game design, Adventure Slang produces two podcasts: one where they chat with all kinds of folks in the TTRPG and adjacent industries, and one featuring audio dramas and APs set in Nuovarden.
