The shipping magnate Marc Hault-Oberlindes has a problem.

His son Sergei was arrested while visiting Ruie and has been imprisoned in the anti-Imperial state of Nebelthorn.

Efforts by Imperial diplomats on Ruie have failed to secure his release, so Marc has hired you to rescue him…


Rescue on Ruie was originally published in the Journal of the Travelers' Aid Society issue 1 for Classic Traveler, but we’ll be playing it using the simpler/lighter-weight (but still 2d6-based) Solar Winds.


I'll provide a couple of maps as visual aids, but we will mostly be using theatre of the mind rather than a VTT. 

This game will be great if you like SciFi action/adventures like Firefly

  • We will build characters in session.

  • Characters will be managed via a Google Sheets character keeper, to which I'll provide a link at the start of the game. Character creation is quick and easy, taking only a few minutes.

  • Players need to have played some RPGs.

  • The game runner is very familiar with this system.

  •  Voice (optional video) and dice rolling on Discord.

This game will be hosted in room #1 of the TTRPG Pickup Con Discord server.

I'm not planning on using a VTT, but we might use an online whiteboard. CW: Potential for violence, political oppression, corruption, and labour camps  (though ultimately this is a SciFi adventure, not a horror one. So, none of those elements will be pushed hard).
