“The Hippogruff Heist” Standard Oneshot, Land of Eem system led by Nona
System pitch: Land of Eem is often pitched as LOTR meets the Muppets. It's a pretty lighthearted fantasy game about adventurers exploring and discovering the remnants of a forgotten, better age. The game emphasizes player creativity and collaborative storytelling, with character abilities that allow players to invent and shape the world around them. Play is more about roleplaying, teamwork, exploration, and finding lost treasures than it is about always fighting monsters...though that's definitely part of the game! It's a whimsical and almost cozy post-apocalyptic fantasy experience. It has the usual fantasy tropes such as lore-seeking travelers, fortune-seeking pioneers and adventure-seeking heroes in a time devoid of them. But in Land of Eem, you can play as various unique and colorful characters such as a Gelatinous Goo, Bogril (frog) or Gnome!
Session pitch: Not too long ago, Lester Gofer, CEO of the Hasty Hippogruff Shipping Co, tried to purchase a special recipe from a gnome named B. Burgell Burger. This magical recipe called soothberry jam is rumored to pacify hippogruffs. But when B. Burgell wouldn’t sell, Lester and his Dratch mooks jumped the helpless gnome while he was out foraging for berries. They stole B. Burgell’s cookbook and left him tied to a tree. Now B. Burgell is looking for payback and it just happens that Lester Gofer is throwing an extravagant party for potential business partners on his riverboat, the Spiffy Scull. And you're the party B. Burgell has hired to infiltrate and steal back his cookbook! Keywords: hijinks, fun, goofy, lighthearted
This game will be great if you like The Muppets, Labyrinth, Adventure Time, The Hobbit and LOTR, and Delicious in Dungeon.
