Launch of the Unexplodable

A game in the D&D 5E system, led by Rayne Bakcheious

The Gnomes that live on the island of “Enough” are well known for their strange and cutting-edge inventions. And this latest one may be their strangest yet. A group of scientists has built a marvelous flying ship that they say is capable of traveling to the moon. Of course, they also said that about the last one too.

This time, the Red Hand’s own Guild Artificer Nigel Wrathbones is advising on the project. That’s why the Guildmaster has asked for a group of adventurers to tag along and make sure the G.S.S. Unexplodable lives up to its name. "

This game will be great if you like Star Trek (Especially Lower Decks) or Kerbal Space Program.

Players should build level 5 characters ahead. Use point-buy or standard array for stat generation.

Any officially published content for classes, feats, ancestries, etc. is fine. Permanent flying features excluded.

Please make a character who is working for hire and has taken this job from the Red Hand Adventuring Guild.

Assume that as adventurers, you’ve been able to purchase any armor, standard weapon, or standard adventuring equipment worth no more than 150gp a piece.

For spellcasters: assume you have the material components needed to cast the spells you’ve chosen.

You can pick two magic items or weapons of up to uncommon rarity. https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items

If you have any backstory notes, please let me know. Please send me a copy of (or link to) your character sheet at least 2 days before we play.

This game will be great for new players.

The game runner is very familiar with this system.

Murder at Moonrise Ranch

Murder at Moonrise Ranch

A game in the D&D 5e system, led by Rayne.

In this one-shot, you play as residents of the small desert town of Moonbright Point. A few days ago, one of the local ranch owners died under mysterious circumstances. The town has been buzzing with rumors of his possible murder and tales of the werewolf that was sighted shortly after he died. For one reason or another, you’ve all been invited to the funeral. And there perhaps you’ll be able to figure who among you has fur... and blood... on your hands.

This game will be great if you like Among Us, Mice & Murder, Wild Wild West.

Players should build LVL 3 characters ahead.

-This game is recommended for experienced role players and those who have some experience with 5E. This game will be somewhat unusual because player vs player is allowed and rather expected. I want players to be especially conscious of making sure their fellow players are having a good time and refraining from metagaming.

Players should commit to having their character and backstory figured out in advance of the game. I’ll want to know how your character fits into the town and how you see the murder victim: Silvan Moonrise.

One of you will be a werewolf; I’ll be rolling a die to determine who it is once the table is set. Everyone who signs up to play should be prepared to add this to their character. I’ll email whoever it is separately before the game.

5E | Level 3 Characters | Use either point-buy or standard array for attributes. Any class or multiclass is fine. Ancestries are limited to the “more human” ones: humans, elves, halflings, etc.

Build a character that is a resident of Moonbright Point. I’ll be sending out more details when the table gets booked, but feel free to lean on Wild West tropes for now.

Assume that as adventurers, you’ve been able to purchase any armor or standard adventuring equipment worth no more than 50gp. And any standard weapon, except for a greatsword or maul.

For spellcasters: assume that you have the material components needed to cast the spells you’ve chosen. If this is a consumable component worth more than 50gp, assume that you have enough for one casting.

Please pick one magic item or weapon of common rarity. https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items

Combat: ⚪⚪⚬⚬⚬

Role Play: ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚪

Exploration: ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚬

CW: Mild horror elements, some body horror pertaining to werewolves.

Bears at Brunch

A game of Honey Heist, led by Rayne.

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and as god-fearing English bears, you're just waking up from a lovely hibernation. And with the spring comes one of your favorite events -- the annual Artist's High Tea. While this does draw an unfortunate number of humans to your favorite park, they do happen to bring with them some of the finest honeys in all the world. Surely they'll never notice if you help yourselves to just a bit of it.

This game will be great if you like Chicken Run, The Penguins of Madagascar, or We Bare Bears.

Characters will be rolled in session. If you want to role ahead of time and plan out your character, you're welcome. We can also roll them up quickly at the start of the session: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AS_M5MuVDkdcrBFS-NQHUkVjMJ5mj_BO/view?usp=sharing

Mission Imfrogable

A game in the D&D 5E system, led by Rayne.

Life in the jungle is pretty sweet. You’ve got just about anything a frog person could want: juicy bugs, shiny rocks, and plenty of choice muddy puddles. What you don’t have is hats. Oh sure, you have the occasional hat that you can steal from passing travelers. But legends have it that The Chapped ones have unimaginable stores of hats in their villages. Your group of friends have decided to raid these foolishly dry beings, and become the most happenin frogs in the jungle.

This game will be great if you like Heist movies, Discworld, or Shaun the Sheep.

Players should build level 5 characters ahead.

  1. Use either point-buy or standard array for attributes.

  2. Create a Grung PC. Please feel free to mix in the official Grung subclasses, but ignore their color scheme and use the one referenced below.

  3. Your character can have any alignment or class.

  4. For spell casters: assume that you have the material components needed to cast the spells you’ve chosen. If this is a consumable component worth more than 50gp, assume that you have enough for one casting.

  5. Aposematism: The color of your skin is a warning against various types of poison. Please include this on your character sheet somewhere. All effects have a save DC of 15 and have 2 uses per short rest unless otherwise stated.

    1. Gold | Rarest, denotes a member of the royal bloodline. The poisoned creature is charmed or frightened (your choice) of you and your allies and can now understand Grung. Can only be used once per long rest, but cannot be resisted. The effect wears off after a long rest.

    2. Red | The poisoned creature becomes nauseous and slowly loses 1 hp every 5 minutes. Poison wears off once the creature drops unconscious and takes a long rest.

    3. Green | The poisoned creature can't move except to hop or climb. If the creature is flying, it can't take any actions or reactions unless it lands. The effect wears off after a long rest.

    4. Purple | The poisoned creature feels a desperate need to soak itself in liquid or mud. It can't take actions or move except to do so or to reach a body of liquid or mud. The effect wears off after a long rest taken in liquid or mud.

A game in the D&D5E ruleset, led by Rayne Whitington.

Join Jarl Calder at the annual pancake festival to celebrate our bountiful harvest! There will be feats of strength, cooking contests, music and art, and of course -- all the pancakes you can eat! This one-shot will happen on the viking inspired island of Midar. You’ll play as residents of the island, heading to the local festival with a group of friends. We’ll work out how exactly you know each other at the top of the session, but please come prepared with a backstory of what your character does on the island.
